Hello All.
Been another interesting week down here in Paoli. Nothing super crazy going on, just the normal ups and downs of missionary work. We were sad that we had to drop some investigators, but God gave us some people that I am really excited about. One even came to church!! The other is willing to be baptized once they know the church is true. Super cool.
Almost got locked out of the car when we were volunteering at the Mercy Center. Sister A left the keys in the ignition and locked the doors. Somehow the drivers door didnt lock though... miracles all around. I also saved a toad from being run over by running into the road super quick to save it.
We have begun teaching a neighbor of one of our members. She is super cute and sweet. She has 2 little boys that are just so fun. The little 4 year old took an instant liking to me. He kept bringing me his pictures he colored and offering me his muddy buddies. She set a baptismal date for November 26.
While contacting a potential we went to a home of this elderly handicap person. Since there wasnt a women in the home we couldnt go in, so I awkwardly shouted a lesson on the atonement to him across the living room while standing in his doorway. Easily the most interesting lesson Ive taught so far.
I got punched my Sister Andrus on Friday. We were passing a really pretty blue house where the people are really mean to us. They will scream and chew us out if they see us. Sister Andrus made the remark that it was a really pretty house. Me being me made the comment "Yeah they are compensating for their awful personalities." So I may have deserved it even though it was true.
Went into the most disgusting house I have EVER been in. There was cat pee, poop, vomit, etc all over the place, and they were chain smokers so it just reeked. I couldnt even talk for the most part I was freaking out so bad. Luckily they werent really interested since they are Wicca. So basically practice witch craft. I never ran out of a house so fast in my life. We had to go home and change because we smelled so bad.
I got to drive this week!!! Super exciting though i absolutely hate Teewee. I also found a cool horse in the middle of nowhere. I took some pictures for Jessie. Friday we went to a ward dinner. The chili nearly burned my mouth off. But we got to go on a cute little hay ride. Saturday we volunteered at a Halloween carnival a member and a few farmers put on. They go all out. It is in the middle of no where, but people come from all over to see it. I wore my awesome socks and they let me borrow a witch hat. I ran the cakewalk and judged the costume contest. They even had popcorn!
Other than that it has been a pretty normal missionary week. Full of the ups and downs of missionary work. But it has been a pretty great week. I just love this gospel. It is so true. I love seeing the miracles it works in peoples lives. I love seeing the miracles it gives me as a missionary. God is great!
Love you all! Thank you so much for the letter and emails! They keep me going.
