Oct 2nd 2017

Hey Y'all!

It's been an interesting week here in Salem. Training is kind of
crazy. Still have no idea what I'm doing but somehow seem to roll with
it. God is so good. We've had some difficulties this week but have
seen some cool miracles.

So most of our lessons canceled on us this week. So that was slightly
awful. But we did get to have a good time hunting people. We got to go
down to this little fair in Borden. Talked to a bunch of people and
then fulfilled my kentucky dream of eating deep fried oreo and a
Twinkie. Surprisingly delicious despite the diabetic coma waiting to
happen. (Don't worry mom I only ate a little and was fine)

Sarah got her temple recommend! She is so excited to go to the temple
in a few weeks. We're hoping to find a time to go with her. We got her
started on her family history and she got super excited about it.

Michael has gone a whole week without smoking! Blessings! Now if we
can just get him to church he will be so close to getting baptized.

We also saved a turtle and a cat this week. We cleaned up the turtle
and brought him to the little lake and as we were leaving this poor
little kitty came up to us. So we had to take it to the shelter, broke
my heart leaving it there. If we could have pets I'd probably have
kept it. It was so loving and sweet and look so betrayed and scared as
we left it.

Conference was amazing! I hope everyone got to hear all the sessions.
If you missed some go back and watch them because they are great. What
a blessing it is to have this gospel restored on the earth today and
modern day apostles and mouthpieces of the Lord. I know that they are
true servants of the Lord and you will draw closer to God and our
savior by studying and applying them.

I love and miss y'all so much!

Sister Hoyt
