Hello All!This has been a crazy week once again.
We set up a baptismal date with Linda! We haven't been able to teach
her recently due to illness but we finally got in with her again and
she said she wants to be baptized and picked a date and everything. It
was pretty cool. She's been kind of what we like to call an
"eternigator" or an eternal investigator. But she says she feels like
she's finally ready to take that step. So we are excited to see how
this goes. She still has a few hurdles to handle first, but we think
she will do it.
We also had a super spiritual lesson with Sarah. We went over the
baptismal interview questions and expressed our confidence in her
being ready and how she's basically already a member we just need to
make it official. I think it really helped her and she is now praying
for a date! We're so excited!
We also got transfer news this week. Sadly Sister Nielson is headed to
Louisville. I'm sad we only got one transfer together. I am getting a
brand new greenie tomorrow. So I am training. Yeah.... scary thought.
But I'm also excited. Don't know who she is yet. Don't find out till
tomorrow. But it'll be a good new adventure. They say that there is no
growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone. I guess
that's true, so I've got a lot of growing ahead of me.
This week we got to help weed/clear out this big island thing with
some members. Sliced my thumb pretty good but it turned out ok. No
stitches. Didn't get poison ivy so yay!
Oh also something I forgot to add into my weekly. So we get this bible
referral right? Well he is wayyy out in the boonies of our area. So we
make the trek out there and he's sitting on his porch. Makes room for
us and then we see the ankle bracelet..... he's on complete house
arrest I think for almost killing a guy is what he said. Because he
was a huge drug addict and alcoholic. Yeahhhhh...... so we're all the
way in the boonies. No one knows where we are and we're stuck with a
guy on house arrest for almost killing someone while hyped on
drugs.... pretty interesting. But he was actually pretty nice.
Obviously a little messed up. That much stuff messes with your brain,
but really seemed to be trying to turn his life around. Been sober for
3 years I think he told us. (Because of being in jail) and that he is
trying to get closer to God and be better and maybe eventually
forgiven. He got pretty excited about the BOM. So we're going back to
meet with him Thursday. Should be fun.
We also had a fun district meeting we played questions of the soul
scripture chase again and I won again! Undefeated champion!! It was
fun.
Love and miss you all! Thanks for all you do!
Sister Hoyt
