Feb 27th 2017 Allie's B-day
Hello All!
This week has been a pretty fun week. Thank you for all the birthday wishes I loved them and you!
We were able to find a new investigator this week. Her name is Shauna. She is a pretty young mom with some crazy health problems. But she is really cool and open to the gospel. Its crazy the Lord just put her in our paths. We were in just the right place at just the right time. It was awesome.
Tiffany is finally living the Word of Wisdom and is in the process of stopping smoking. Shes doing great and is determined. Love her! She came to church this week and even participated in the lessons. She calls it her church and I am so excited for her to be baptized.
I found out that Justin and Becca get married today!!! And then Justin will be baptized next week with Becca following at the end of March. I am sooo soo happy and cant wait to finally see them in white. It will be the best day ever.
So we started doing family scripture study with one of the families in our ward. It is one of my favorite times during the week. They are absolutely hilarious and you never know whats going to happen. Last night Jackie was talking about finding clothes with her mom and she yelled across the store "They dont have size fat!" Everyone was laughing and her mom was mortified. She has the best sense of humor and sarcasm that we get along really well :)
The main thing that happened this week is we had a mini MTC for the youth in our stake. So Friday night we headed up to E-town and we got to be put with 1 or 2 girls and assigned a country. I was given Kayla and Celine and we were in they Kenya mission. Kayla is an army brat that does cheer and musical theater. Super sweet. She had to leave and couldnt stay for the whole thing so I got a new companion Saturday morning named Chloe. Celine is actually danish so that was interesting. It kind of surprised me how old I felt next to them. They were all boy crazy and drama. But it was still a lot of fun. Friday was spent having some mini classes like you do in the MTC just wayyyy shorter. We had an RM that served in the Kenya mission bring some of his stuff and he had these weird corn mush balls that I was forced to try. They werent that horrible actually. After all that the girls went to a few different houses to spend the night and all the sister missionaries went to the bishops house. It was like a giant sleepover. The bishop made us popcorn and ice cream. We had devotional and prayer and then we all slept in the basement. Of course I got no sleep since one sister snored like a chainsaw and we were on the floor. We also had to wake up a 4:50 our time since they are an hour a head and we had to be at our girls houses at 6:45. That was killer. But Saturday we got to do studies with the girls and then headed back to the church. President Brough spoke to them and then we were told to go out and teach some people. We got to go teach this cute little 93 year old lady. And it was so fun letting the girls be able to share their favorite scriptures and bare their testimonies. Her grandson also has the scooby doo Mystery inc van. So that was pretty cool. After we got to teach we went back to the church and ate pizza. Had a testimony meeting and then headed home. The testimonies were pretty cool. Some of the youth really figured out if they wanted to serve or not. Awesome experience to be a part of.
We also so this crazy bad crash while we were driving. Like body bags on the ground, absolutely no survivors of the one car kind of bad crash. Very sobering and sad. But we also got to go teach Fred again. He is doing great and is right on track for getting a calling soon.
Other than that we have had a pretty normal week. Got to do some fun things for P-day today and am looking forward to another good week. So grateful to be able to be out here and be a missionary. This gospel is amazing and I love to watch it change people lives and see how happy they are as the light of the gospel comes into their lives.
Thank you for all the support!! Love and miss you all!
