Nov 20th 2016

Hi All!

So this week has been a pretty slow week. Most of our appointments canceled. So we were left stranded and had to try a lot of finding this week. Justin broke 4 ribs and tore the ligaments in his arm and leg in an accident Monday. So we havent really gotten to see him. Found a cute old guy who had met with the Elders a long time a go. He was in the army and had been a cop for 24 years, and now he carves stone.

I did a lot more cleaning before Zone conference on Wednesday. But I won so I am happy.

At zone conference we had to go all the way to Crestwood Kentucky. And like I said I won some cleaning supplies because of all the cleaning I did. Also won 4 candy bars from that and winning a Preach my Gospel chase. Got to see one of the Elders from my MTC district. Apparently another one of the elders went home. That is 3 out of 8 of us going to Kentucky that went home now. Super sad. But the trainings were really awesome. President Brough is pretty cool. The zone leaders gave an awesome training on the Book of Mormon.

We went and saw the young mother with the 2 little boys, Ashley. She is pretty cool. She was already on 2 Nephi 14. And we have only taught her once... She says she wants to get baptized. We just have the little issue of smoking and living with a boyfriend... We went and saw her neighbor who is a member. Sister Karnes. She has the ugliest dog I have ever seen. Its way creepy.
Ran into this awesome guy that wanted to meet with us. He has no relationship with God whatsoever. Doesnt even really know who He is, but has a desire to know. He told us he has wanted to be baptized since he was 18. Teaching him is going to be really really slow. He doesnt understand much. The lesson was kind of hard too, because all his friends kept coming over since we were meeting at the park. This one guy is in a wheelchair, obviously not all the way there, but he was hilarious. Kept going on and on about his Iguanas. About how they are going to have like 50 babies and all this random stuff.
Dylun is so close to being baptized. We are thinking he will be ready within the next few weeks. Super stoked! He is really excited and progressing.

Ended up in a rice fight with a recent convert. We were doing a Book of Mormon read and an object lesson, using rice and some big objects in a jar. Its used to illustrate that when we put God first all the little things we have to do in the day (rice) somehow fit in. But when we do the little things first, we cant fit the good things in. But somehow things turned into us throwing rice. It started when Jacob wanted me to throw and easter egg full of rice at him so he could smack it with the stick. Well it exploded all over me and Sister A soo obviously we threw it back.

Brother Guthrie is finally seeming to get back on track a little bit. He was back to his funny joking self at one point this week. making jokes about running. Said he used to tell his enemies to quit running because they would only die tired... Hes pretty funny. Scared the crap out of a guy blowing leaves as we were running past at 6:30 that morning. It was hilarious.

We went up to Frenchlick for their big tree lighting/kick off for Christmas. They do this 50 days of light festival. So they had this giant Christmas tree they lit up. A member in the ward was in charge of making their giant Gingerbread house (out of real gingerbread) It was really big. I could fit inside it. They have the whole hotel covered in Christmas things. They even have these villages down the hallways with a bunch of fake snow. It is pretty cool.

Sunday was stake conference so we had a member offer to drive us down there. Of course she wanted to drive all the back roads, so we ended up 20 minutes late. But it was still pretty good. The member of the 70 there was like a scripture master. He would just flip through them and find the scripture he wanted lightning fast. It was cool. Brother Guthrie got a puppy. A little beagle named Dixie. Super cute. Got to go see sister Moore too. She is the awesomest lady ever. Super duper sweet. Made us some hot chocolate and invited us for thanksgiving.

We are only allowed to accept 2 Thanksgiving dinners, but thats totally ok. I do not need that much food. But it is a non proselyting day so we are going to do a lot of volunteering. It should be lots of fun. Missionary work is really hard. But it is so amazing. I love being able to watch the light of Christ come into peoples lives as they receive answers to prayers and see the Holy Ghost testify of truth. I just love this gospel. I know that it is true. That God lives. He is our loving Heavenly Father. And he is always reaching out to his children.

Zone Conference
The gingerbread house at the festivity they went to. It's real gingerbread.

She said a member bought these masks for the sandstorms they get..

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! Love you all!
