Sept 26th 3rd week in Field

Hi All.

As you can tell it has been a pretty interesting week. Tuesday we got to work at the Mercy Center and serve food again. Love doing that, service is fun. We also got to hold a baby squirrel at a less actives house. It was soo cute!!

So we went to teach Susan and Glenda. Glenda was having bad chest pains, so she ended up calling 911 and having EMTs sent out to take her to the hospital. Just as they were loading her up we got a text from a recent convert family saying that Jeremy (the husband) was really sick. She said his face was really swollen and he wont wake up and she is going to take him to the hospital. So we get 2 priesthood holders and immediately head up there. Crazy night. Both turned out just fine.

Wednesday was pretty slow at first. All our appointments canceled so we were hitting the streets and trying to find potentials. We had to stop for some ice cream because it was super hot and we just needed a break. Luckily all our evening appointments happened. It was super fun teaching Justin again. I think he will be a really solid investigator if he just gets his butt in gear. A lot of our investigators have a problem with really committing to doing things.

Thursday was District Meeting. The assistants came and we talked about personal revelation and how to help our investigators. We all went out to a district lunch afterwards, which was pretty fun. After we got back we headed to Orleans to teach. While there we saw a guy screaming and trying to punch through a van window while it drove away. And then a girl with a little dog following a guy crying and screaming. Even fell down to her knees at one point... Interesting people everywhere. We got to go see a less active who is super sweet to the missionaries, but wont go back to church because she was offended. Happens a lot out here. She promised to make us some homemade bread that she says everyone loves. She also gave us a little porcelain light up dove. She was all worried about us riding our bikes in the dark and made us text her when we got to the car to head home.

Friday was pretty uneventful. We taught a few good lessons with people. Visited a few members who haven't gone to church. One of our recent converts hurt his leg really badly and doesnt do what he needs to to get it fixed. Stubborn old man. But he is a super awesome guy. Always has a unique perspective.

Saturday was a rough day. Emotions were just running high and it was just frustrating. But we did get to go to a members house and watch part of the Womens Broadcast. Sadly we had to leave before the last talk. I was not happy about that. Hopefully we will get to see it soon though. I had a pretty cool experience though even though I was struggling that day. It was a good reminder of how much the Lord really is aware of us and loves us. He is always aware of what we need.

Sunday was pretty good though. Everyone in Orange County was asked to come to the twig because theyre trying to form an actual branch here. So there was more people there. Sister A talked on charity which was pretty cool. We were asked to sing a duet together so we sang I Need Thee Every Hour. Our voices actually blend pretty well together. We also got to go to a fireside for investigators and recent converts in Louisville with some people. It was really cool hearing other peoples stories. We got to go see a bridge afterwards thats all lit up and changes colors. That was fun. My companion thinks Im hilarious because I make random and often sarcastic comments. She busted up laughing the other day because we popped some popcorn and I said that popcorn was delicious to the taste and very desirable.... Its nice that she gets most of my movie quotes though. Atleast some of them.

All in all it has been a pretty good week. This next week is going to be crazy busy. I am going on exchanges with the Sister Training Leaders tomorrow. That should be fun. We also have a sisters conference for all the sister missionaries on Wednesday. Friday the twig is having a social that we are trying to get our investigators and less actives to. Me and sister A are in charge of the games. And then the weekend is conference!! I am so excited. I definitely think I need it at the moment. Thank you all for your emails and letters. I am sorry my replies are so short or take forever. We have very little time as missionaries. But I really do love them. They really keep me going throughout the week. I love you all! Keep smiling! Do missionary work!
