July 10th 2017
Hey Y'all!
I hope y'all had an awesome 4th of July! We got to go to this little
parade in Pekin and our ward mission leader set off some small
fireworks at his house for us. We had to chase 3 skunks away from our
car so we could leave, that was interesting lol.
This week has been a busy one that's for sure.
We got to help our less active and her fiancée who is an investigator
decorate for their wedding. It was sooo much fun! I love doing stuff
like that. And it was good because we got to get in contact with her
sisters who are all less actives. Pretty awesome.
We also got to help prime and paint walls for a family in our ward.
It's so much fun to get dirty and wear pants as a missionary. They're
supposed to teach us to grout tile this week so I am excited.
We also had exchanges and met the new mission president, President
Hughes this week. He seems really nice and still scared out of his
mind, lol. But he will be good. He is very different from President
Brough and very soft spoken. It'll be fun to see what he does over the
next few months. We have interviews with him next week.
We also met a guy who was pretty crazy. He believes he's a "lower
level prophet" and believes in a bunch of conspiracy theories. He
believes that he saw some extermination order from the government and
that "when we see them come with blue hats we all die" so that was a
fun little conversation. But we also got to meet this cute little old
lady who set up a return appointment with us. She has had a lot of
trials and this gospel can really help her.
Sarah is still doing great. She is wanting to take a trip to the
temple to sit on the grounds and feel the peace. We are hoping that
will help her want to progress closer to baptism.
Anywhoo that's the highlights of our week. We're excited to get thing
rolling and see some miracles here in Salem.
Love you all! Thanks for all the support! Have a wonderful week!
Sister Hoyt
