Hey Yall
Well this week has been crazy but sooo spiritually uplifting.
I hope you all were able to watch General Conference this weekend. It was amazing. I cannot put into words how much I love conference. And this conference was especially great. Did yall catch all the cool talks on light? So many of the talks felt specifically directed to me. I am excited to apply them and become a better disciple of Jesus Christ. That one talk aimed at investigators of the church was awesome too! Every missionary on the planet got super excited over that one. We will be posting that a lot lol.
Side note. Dont be alarmed when you see that I take the title Sister off my Facebook page. There has been some bad things happening through Facebook and we have been asked by the missionary department to remove that title from Facebook. Dont worry I am still very much a missionary :).
Well we obviously survived our storm last week. There was a lot of trees down and stuff so we spent most of the evening driving around and helping people clean up messes. It blew an entire fence down into these peoples yards that we helped move. I was grateful for my rain boots.
We also got to do a district service project. We worked with a member in Sulphur Well and cleared trails for the trek thats going on this summer. It was a lot of fun and perfect weather for it. While doing it the member showed us where the first church in Kentucky and first church building east of the Mississippi river. Its over by a point where the river splits in 3 and each part is a different county. Thats where they would have their baptisms and this lady would either take a large horse or a little boat and take people from the other sides of the river to where the church was at every Sunday. I almost fell into that river after sliding down the hill in the mud on accident. But it was a lot of fun.
Sadly Sister Hafen got really sick this week. Shes spent most of the weekend in bed. So not a bunch of missionary work got done. But we found a new investigator named Elder. Yep Elder. Hes from Honduras. So we have to have someone who speaks Spanish Skype into his lessons. But he is super sweet and open to the gospel. Denise is also still doing great. She has done a lot of research on the church and has even watched some of general conference on youtube.
We also had Tiffanys baptism on Friday. Sister Hafen was still pretty sick. So I scrubbed out the font and got everything ready while she did her makeup in the bathroom. It went really well though. And our other investigator Denise came. That was way cool. Tiffany was soo happy and excited and she came up out of that font just grinning. She said it was the happiest and most peaceful shes felt in a long time. I noticed that I say it makes my heart happy alot on my mission. I think its because the joy is just so much more than feeling happy. It fills your whole body and the closest I can put it into words is that it makes my heart happy. And knowing now that her 3 kids can grow up in the gospel and eventually serve missions to is just the best feeling ever.
We spent conference alone in the church because Sister Hafen didnt want to go to any members homes since she has had a sore throat and been sick. But it was still really good. Loved the spiritual uplifting and call to repentance that was in every talk. We also got transfer news and somehow we are staying together for a 3rd transfer! pretty crazy but I am excited. Means I will probably be at least 6 months here in Glasgow. Oh and get this. Sister Andrus is coming to be a STL!!! Super excited for that. Knew she would eventually be put as one. Shes too awesome not to be. So Ill get to be seeing her a little more finally :)
Love and miss you all! Have an amazing week!
