Hello All!
Hope everyone is enjoying this Christmas season with family and the Light the World initiative! Its been a blast sharing it with people in our little Paoli.
This week has just been a pretty ordinary week. Just freezing cold. Like single digits cold. Life in a skirt sucks some days. Yay for like 6 layers of tights.
So crazy thing on Tuesday. this random lady came in while we are the mercy center and there was something obviously wrong with her. She at first seemed really nice and asked if we could use any new clothes that she was unloading, we then offered to help her unload and she said sure follow me to the church across the street and then when we get there she speeds out of the parking lot almost hitting us. Then found her a little later to make sure she was ok. She was talking with one of the youth ministers of a church, She told him that she is getting bad feelings from us and sister Tibbitts was pretty sure she thinks or is possessed..... It was way wacky. This is why Paoli has a major Meth issue.
We got to go help our dear sweet sister Moore make candy Tuesday night. She has a bad arm and was really worried about getting it all done. So we had a lot of fun with her and her granddaughter making some candies for her Christmas party.
So we decided to clean the one back bedroom out. We moved all the stuff into our main room and it was stacked full of crap. The Elders had even left these donkey tail things mounted on the wall..... Not to mention giant alien stickers... Elders are ridiculously stupid. I am ready to hunt them down and smack them. We are going to have to scrub, plaster, and paint the whole apartment. Its that bad.
So some of the cool things this week was that Justin told us he was excited to be baptized! and then we had a lesson with Dylun over the phone and he said he wanted to be baptized. That kid has been arguing with us forever on why he wont align himself with one church. We also got a new investigator which is really exciting. We are hoping they will accept baptism soon. AND our less active/recent convert came to church!!!!!!!!! first time in over 6 months! It was awesome to finally see him there.
Thursday we had interviews with President and Sister Brough. They are pretty cool. Sister Brough gave me some popcorn because she knew how much I liked it.
Sunday we went caroling with the ward. It was soooo cold. Our car was frozen shut that morning. Had to pour water on it just to open the door. We were frozen. But it was still so fun. We went back to the church to eat some chili. Its really weird here, everyone puts noodles in their chili. I dont know why. but literally everyone does.
This week has been a struggle but I am really excited for Christmas. I have been loving sharing all hte Christmas videos and stories with the people we teach. There is a special spirit during Christmas when we make the spirit of Christmas the spirit of Christ. It is a time to be kinder, happier, and thankful for all that we have been given. The greatest being the little baby born in a stable who would be our Savior and Redeemer. He is the Prince of Peace, the King Emmanuel, and the Good Shepard. There was no room for him in the Inn, but is there room enough for him in your life? I hope this Christmas is one full of peace and joy for "All Y'all." Eat lots of food! Stay warm!
Love you! Merry Christmas!
In the process of cleaning a bedroom out and having to move everything to the front of the apartment.
Out Christmas caroling with the ward.
Can I just say I am so dang excited to skype with this girl of mine in 6 days! Woohoo!
