Hello All!
So the coolest thing that happened this week.... JUSTIN SAID HE WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!! We are shooting for the first week in January. He still is a little worried but he thinks this is the right thing to do. Im super excited for him. Going to try and get Becca to take the lessons too so that we can baptize her shortly after.
Other than that this week has been kind of slow. Again we lost most of our investigators so weve been doing a lot to try and find people. But in a small town there is ony so much you can do when its freezing cold or raining.
Tried this one girl who let us in and her house was literally crawling. Their were cockroaches everywhere in everything. The walls moved. Another house where I had to go change immediately.
But we finally got to teach a girl we have been trying to get in contact with for weeks. She said she let us in because she felt bad for always saying no. But we had a really great first lesson and she said she was really glad she let us in. So hopefully we will get to teach her more and that she will continue to want to meet with us. The investigator that we went to teach last week has apparently got some anti material from her family so now wont return our calls or messages. yay. Also our recent convert brother Guthrie started to avoid us then asked to have his records removed and is now spouting anti to everyone he sees. Its wonderful. Guess he was more converted to his missionaries than the gospel. pretty sad.
I also ran over my first animal ever this week. It was a horrible experience I never want to repeat. We had barely put on 4 new tires. Like 2 hours ago. And then we pulled over to TWE this guy, and apparently their cat ran under my tire as I was pulling away and I didnt see it till I ran over it so I had to go back and apologize and I felt like a horrible human being. Its was horrid I felt so bad. My companion just thought It was funny to torture me about it.
Sister T also got really sick this week and spent the night puking. So I got to take the time and clean some of the apartment and do some personal studies. She was better the next day though so that was good.
We got fed a lot this week. It was sooo nice. This sweet member from the Philippines had us over to her house and fed us a bunch of food. Then we had a ward activity where there was food. And then the Rathfons had us eat Sunday dinner with them yesterday it was great. Its nice to have a home cooked meal and spend time with members.
Other than that this week has been spent trying to fix the apartment and find new people. And trying to stay warm haha.
Hope you are all enjoying this Christmas season and the Light the World initiative! Thanks for all your encouragement and love!
I am including Some of the personal letter she sent me.
Hi Mommy,
Words cant express the feelings when I opened up the Christmas package. I cried for a good 20 minutes. Both in sadness and joy. Thank you so much for going through all that effort. Lot more than I was expecting. Thank you so so much for trying to include me on all our traditions still. The dollar store gifts and the binder of stories to read at night. They are a tender mercy to me. I just love them. They mean so so much.
