March 13th 2017

Hello All!!!

Pretty fun and interesting week this week. Lots of service hours and lots of tracking down people.

It was super warm Thursday so we decided to bike from 10:30-3:30. It was awesome but I got fried. Looked like a lobster for a few days lol.

Anyway the best part of the week was that we got to go to the temple!!!!!! It was soo awesome!! Its a pretty small temple, but I just love it. Sister Hendley was really nervous at first and we had to help her do everything at first and she was practically glued to our sides. But as the time went on we got to see her relax more and more and just got happier and happier. It was so awesome. She had a family name that she had found herself and so it was really cool for her. She felt like she understood it so much more and kept telling the workers that they were going to see much more of her. Made this missionary heart sooo happy. The temple is just the best.

Tiffany is set for baptism on the 25th!!! Super excited for her. She is pretty great. I have loved seeing the gospel change her life and the life of her 3 kids. She is so excited to start on this journey and has really amazed us with how far she has progressed. Its been really hard for her to give up smoking and coffee but she is doing amazing with it and knows its what she needs to do.

The only other interesting thing that happened this week was that we had a guy completely on drugs show up at church. We had talked to him a few days previous and he was super cool and interested so we invited him to church. But when he showed up he was definitely on drugs. He kept asking us who had the money and trying to convince us that we needed to go to Nevada with him because thats where God wants us to be, and all this crazy talk. So I had to hunt down the bishop and then he and one of the stake presidency told him to leave or they were going to have him arrested but that he could come back when he was sober and clean..... He ended up walking around the parking lot and looking into the windows before finally leaving... Kentucky. Gotta love it.

We got to have a cool discussion on some cool scriptures and quotes in PMG that talk a lot about enjoying the spirit. It surprised me on how much that joy and the spirit are mentioned together. Our mission president said that if we do not have joy we do not have the spirit. Thats a powerful statement. When we center our lives on the things that bring the spirit we find our lives are filled with joy, not just happiness. So this week focus on inviting joy, not just happiness.

Love and miss you all! Have a great week!!
